I live in a large apartment complex and house sparrows are probably the #1 bird i see. They complete with tits, robins, and chickadees where i am in Northern Virginia. the apartment complex eradicates them, but not in a humane way. i often see many dead baby birds on the sidewalk, and now i am helping them and finding them a captive home so they can live a life without suffering.

our steller's jays and spotted towhees like to eat off the ground. I don't know how to get rid of the sparrows who eat their food, too. we have way too many sparrows of various types and they're mating all over the lawn. how would I keep feeding them without the sparrows getting to their food?

Peanut butter are always a big hit around here.

I have eliminated 35 - 40 European house sparrows and have seen great improvement at my feeders being entertained by house finches, gold finches, downy woodpeckers, chickadees, and even a dark eyed junco.

I love starlings, but it's sad they are such a native and agricultural threat.

Took a couple of days to do but got it. Put it out today, had three Catbirds in less than 15 minutes. It was late today, I'll set it out first thing tomorrow. Not sure the thickness of wire you used.The wire I used was heavy. It was .080". Hard to work with..

There is a type of birdhouse guard that I can't seem to be able to find on the internet. It's an after market attachment that swivels and blocks the entrance if anything heavier than a bluebird sits on it. Then, when the bird flies away, it swivels back to the open position. Have you heard of this and can help me with the name of it?

Thanks , I had a mallard mom in by my pool in sugar land Texas lay 11 eggs , 9 made it; after 2 days they left, sigh! I hope they are ok, I have some great pictures! Now another pregnant mallard with her guy has shown up; just a few days later! Crazy

I use the trimmings (fat) from a 15 lb brisket. This feeds my family and the birds.

This is an awesome sparrow trap! Sparrows dominated my feeders and destroyed my bluebird box nests. I bought this trap and after the first two years I trapped over 600 House Sparrows, sometimes 18 a day. I think I caught all the dominant females after the 3d year and have the population under control.

Thank you. . I started this spring...I only had two boxes. Next year I will have more. I waited until dark then raided two nests. Captured adult females and the eggs they were sitting on.

I have a red-headed woodpecker in my backyard I don't see him often and I've never seen a pair I live in the Mississippi and I just want to protect him as much as I can or her LOL
